Possible Office Procedures

The content of this website is an educational resource only. It is not a substitute for discussion with your doctor regarding your particular condition, and treatment decisions.

Dr. Yu’s practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity musculoskeletal conditions. Sometimes, the necessary procedure can be performed right in our office, rather than in a formal operating room. This ability allows for more efficient treatment, easier scheduling, no blood work or other tests required, and is most often less costly. These procedures utilize the injection of local anesthesia when required, and you do not need to have someone accompany you home (although we do still recommend it if you can). Some of the possible in-office services include fracture reduction, dislocation reduction, cast/splint application, cortisone injections, cyst aspiration, joint aspiration, ultrasound guided injection/aspiration, trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s contracture release, carpal tunnel release, and foreign body removal. Dr. Yu will discuss with you if an in-office procedure is appropriate for your condition, and will review all details with you regarding the procedure, the post-operative recovery protocol, and expected outcomes.
